Bucknuts Happy Hour- The Irish side of the coin

Cheers, Ohio State fans! The moment that you’ve all been waiting for is nearly here. The 2022 college football season has kicked off and the Buckeyes get things underway on Saturday night.

There are no cupcake games to start this year for the Scarlet and Gray. No. 2 Ohio State begins the new year with a bang, welcoming No. 5 Notre Dame to Ohio Stadium for a much-anticipated primetime matchup.

This game not only marks the seventh all-time meeting between two of the most historic programs in college football. It’s not just that it’s only the fifth time these two teams have played on either one’s campus (with a return game scheduled for next year in South Bend, Indiana). But this is also the first time in the history of the Buckeye program that the Scarlet and Gray have opened the season ranked in the top five and played another top five team.

Speaking of historic, our team writer Patrick Murphy recorded the second-ever Bucknuts Happy Hour prior to Saturday’s kick. Patrick was joined for the first section by Tim O’Malley of 247Sports’ Notre Dame site Irish Illustrated to give some perspective on the other side of this game. Then Patrick discussed some of the falsities he sees out there heading into the 2022 season before taking some bold predictions from those who tuned in to the live show.
