रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने रविवार को एक ऑनलाइन पोर्टल लॉन्च किया, जिसका उद्देश्य एक मल्टी-टेनेंसी सेंट्रल प्लेटफॉर्म के माध्यम से 62 छावनी बोर्डों में 20 लाख से अधिक नागरिकों को ऑनलाइन नगरपालिका सेवाएं प्रदान करना है। ‘ई-छावनी’ पोर्टल दिल्ली में चीफ ऑफ डिफेंस स्टाफ जनरल बिपिन रावत की उपस्थिति में लॉन्च किया गया था।

रक्षा मंत्री ने कहा कि छावनी क्षेत्रों के निवासी नागरिक समस्याओं के बारे में अपनी शिकायतें दर्ज कर सकते हैं और घर बैठे ही उनका समाधान कर सकते हैं। उन्होंने कहा, “हमारी सरकार प्रणाली को परिष्कृत करने और लोगों के लिए आसानी में सुधार लाने के लिए प्रतिबद्ध है।”

सिंह ने कहा, “इस पोर्टल से लोगों को आसानी से नगरपालिका सेवाएं प्रदान की जाएंगी। वे अपने दस्तावेज़ जैसे ट्रेड लाइसेंस, सीवरेज कनेक्टिविटी एप्लिकेशन पोर्टल के माध्यम से प्राप्त कर सकते हैं।”
