In the episode, King Viserys, played by Paddy Considine, orders his wife Aemma Aryn – played by Sian Brooke – to have a cesarean section while she is conscious, and the operation kills both her and the baby.

While director Miguel Sapochnik told the press he consulted with many women before deciding to shoot the scene, some charities believed a trigger warning should have been added before the episode.

Jen Coates, the director of the Sands charity, told the BBC about the importance of programs such as house of the dragon to make people aware of what can be shown. She said-

“I think it’s actually pretty traumatic for everyone.

“With 13 babies dying every day in the UK, the situation is also directly affecting a huge community of people.

“That way, people can be better equipped with knowledge and make an informed decision to watch or skip certain scenes or episodes.”

Trigger spoiler website Doesthedogdie.com creator John Whipple added that he believes streaming services should try to “tailor the alerts to each user and maybe even recommend what to do based on a user’s specific triggers.” you can see”.
