Sunil said this amid the growing trend of Bollywood films and boycotting stars on social media. Recently, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Raksha Bandhan were followed by boycott calls and both the films failed to do well at the box office. While Aamir’s film was done on the collection 45.83 crores in its extended five-day weekend, Akshay Kumar’s film had collected about a week. 37.50 crore. Both Laal Singh Chaddha and Raksha Bandhan were released on August 11.
On the new issue, Sunil was quoted by news agency ANI as saying, “We (Hindi film industry) have also done a great job. But these days people can’t be happy with the type of subjects of films. And that’s why we are going through such a difficult time. I hope you will have . First, it felt like one time, but now we constantly see people not coming to the theaters, and I can’t put my finger on the reason why this is happening and what is going on.”
