Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Design

Well, in my opinion, the Triumph Tiger Sport 600 looks very impressive. It has a very long, upright and athletic stance, which is very typical for adventure sports trips. The tall, tall windshield up front, along with a very cute and bulky fairing add some volume to its nose.

To spice things up, a pair of slim LED headlights with LED DRLs do the job. Move back a bit, you have a large fuel tank that looks like a tiger, and the seat is a one-piece unit, which is also comfortable. About the back, the design is very simple and I really liked it. The Tiger Sport’s 17-inch rims are precision-crafted, and the rear fenders also feature large mounts.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Features

Yes, the list of features on the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 is quite long. The motorcycle comes with a fully digital instrument cluster. In fact, it is one of the most beautiful units in terms of clarity, as it can be read even under strong sunlight. Also, the amount of information displayed is plenty as well.

Plus, you get two riding modes, ABS, and traction control. The latter is not a convertible, but you can also use a fast two-way transmission. For connectivity, the Tiger Sport 660 gets Bluetooth connectivity, which I think is a blessing when you’re riding in town.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Engine and Gearbox

This tilting cutter is powered by a 660 cc inline-3 engine that generates 81 horsepower and 64 Nm of peak torque. The big marks are what the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 scored for its refinement and aggressive low-end grunt. The Tiger Sport 600’s midrange is also solid, but it fails to deliver the same performance around the redline.

To put things into perspective, the Tiger Sport 660 can pull off speeds as low as 40 km/h in sixth gear itself, which is exceptional indeed. Speaking of the gearbox, the 6-speed unit is smooth, and the clutch action makes absolutely no complaints. However, the clutch lever could have been adjustable, in terms of reach

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Riding and Handling

I liked the suspension, brakes, tires and, in fact, the Triumph Tiger Sport 660’s chassis in terms of agility, compactability, and overall ride comfort. The front suspension consists of inverted Showa forks and a monoshock for the rear, which comes with a remote preload adjuster.

The setup provides the perfect balance for a comfortable ride for the most part, along with sharp dynamics but on sharp bumps it takes a hit. It should be noted that the Tiger is a capable machine in terms of dynamics, thanks to its robust chassis.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 – Easy Access

No, I’m not talking about financial accessibility here, because the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 looks a bit pricey at the previous showroom price of Rs 8.95 lakh, the previous showroom. But this motorcycle is a lot more accessible when ergonomics is taken into account. Even with an empty weight of around 240kg and a seat height of 835mm, the Tiger Sport 660 shows no hiccups with its hefty size, the moment you set off. To make long trips fun, the rider’s triangle is straight and snug.
